What Can You See?

Pastor Chris.

And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed forever (Genesis 13:14-15).

When the Lord told Abraham to lift up his eyes and look, in the scripture above, He wasn't referring to the man's physical eyes, but to the eyes of his spirit. God told him all the land he could "see" was his; it was now up to Abraham to decide how far he wanted to see. Being a man of faith, he looked from his spirit and saw the whole world. The Bible says "For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith" (Romans 4:13). Abraham became the heir of the whole world by faith.

Now, that's not the end of the story. The Bible says "So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham" (Galatians 3:9). You're as much the heir of the whole world as Abraham: "And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise" (Galatians 3:29). No wonder the Bible declares that God has given you everything you require for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). However, it's that which you've taken possession of by faith, that which your spirit has embraced, that you can enjoy. So it's up to you! As far as your eyes can see, that's "what the Lord has given to you for an inheritance.

As you fast and pray about the coming year, see yourself making unprecedented progress in every area of your life. See God taking you from glory to glory. Perhaps you've been praying and asking the Lord for a child, see that child with your spirit first. Whatever you've taken possession of from within, will certainly manifest in the physical.

Start practising how to see from your spirit, for your spirit is where the light of God is. God doesn't function in the realm of the mind or senses. If you're going to enjoy all the wonderful benefits of salvation God has in store for you, then you've got to see with the eyes of faith and speak forth what you see.

Abide In The Vine

Pastor Anita

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing” (John 15:4-5). The Lord Jesus is the Vine and we (the Church) are His branches. That means we’re connected to Him; we’ve been pre-destined and ordained to a fruitful life; we’re born to produce results! For any branch to keep producing fruits as it should, it must remain connected to the Vine. Likewise, you must remain connected to the Lord if you desire to bear fruit continually. You must continually acknowledge that your strength isn’t in yourself but inChrist, for without Him you can do nothing (John 15:5). As I study the books of the gospel, I discover that Jesus stressed several times the fact that He didn’t come to do His own will but the will of His Father. Moreover, every time He performed a miracle, He also testified that He was only fulfilling the will of His Father. The union between the two of them is most remarkable! In John 17:22-23, Jesus prayed that we also should be included in the union with the Father. In other words, He wanted us to be perfected in this union. That means you’re in the Father through Jesus. This is why Colossians 3:3 says, “...your life is hid with Christ in God.” Now that you know you’re in the Vine, you must live as one in the vine! Let the whole world know you’re abiding in Jesus through the expression of your love for Him in words and deeds. Let this love fill your heart and mouth. You see, if you truly abide in Him and His Word abides in you, you’ll consistently speak His Word in spite of any situation. When you abide in the Lord, you acknowledge His leadership over your life; you recognize that you’re in partnership with Him; hence, you’re backed up by Deity. He becomes your personal friend. This means He’s on your mind in all you do.

MAINTAINING YOUR VICTORY THROUGH GRATITUDE

Pastor Chris
…Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen (Revelation 7:12).

One important thing you can give to God is your praise and thanksgiving. In Luke 17:17, Jesus asked the leper who returned to give thanks, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine.” In Matthew 26:27, Jesus gave thanks to God for the cup - His own blood that would be shed! David wanted to show kindness to anyone who was left of the house of Saul, because of his gratitude to his friend Jonathan (2 Samuel 9:7). Elisha prayed for the woman who provided him with food and shelter to have a child – that was his expression of gratitude for the love she had shown to him (2 Kings 4:12-17).

Maybe you’re thinking to yourself that there’s particularly nothing to be thankful for; you’re thinking, “After all, I’m sick” “I’m unhappy”; “I have bills to pay.” Well, if you’re a Christian, your life ought to be radiant and full of thanksgiving. Ephesians 5:20 says, “Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Your prayers must be filled with gratitude, irrespective of what you feel or what you’re going through. Do not only acknowledge what you can see, rather acknowledge what God has done, because that is what keeps you living a life of gratitude.

Give God your praise and thanksgiving today as a demonstration of your gratitude for all He’s done for you. He deserves all your praise and adoration.

"It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership".
